MAN DIES AS VEHICLE FALLS INTO RAVINE

A 52 year old man has died after his vehicle crashed off the road and fell into a ravine just outside the town of Competa Malaga, according to sources of the Andalusia 112 Emergency System and Traffic Management Centre in Malaga.

The incident occurred about twelve o’clock last Tuesday in a camino on the outskirts of Competa, known as Cerrillo, when the driver misjudged the bend only for his vehicle to drive off a 70 metre cliff.

A second person in the vehicle was not injured, jumping out of the car into adjacent bushes moments before it disappeared over the edge of the cliff. He was able immediately to dial the emergency services.

The accident was dealt with by staff of the Málaga Provincial Fire, Police, health services and local police of the municipality. The injured man was declared dead at the scene.
