TEN YEARS FOR RAPIST
The prosecution plans to request a total sentence of ten years in prison for a man accused of attempting to rape and threatening to kill his former partner, in the El Ejido area of Almería on March 24th, 2010.
Evidence in the case reports that the defendant, a 34 year old Moroccan with the initial SH, approached the victim, then “strongly pushed” her, knocking her down, he then removed his trousers and tried to rape her.
The prosecutor also states that during the assault, the accused continually threatened the woman with such expressions as, “I’ll kill you if you leave Spain to Morocco.”
Following the attack, the woman suffered several abrasions on various parts of the body as well as redness and swelling in the genital area.
The prosecution asked for the defendant serves nine years in prison for rape and one year for an offense of threats to the family.
The prosecutor also wants the accused to be banned from possessing and carrying weapons for ten years, and an exclusion order preventing the defendant from approaching the victim within a distance of a kilometre radius for the same duration.
The provisional date for the hearing has been given as January 17th, at the Second Section of the Audiencia Provincial de Almería.
