Ten men & ten ladies representing the Spanish National squad, from mainly Alicante and Almeria provinces, will make the trek to Santa Maria Bowls Club to play a match against Team Malaga, under the auspices of the Spanish & Andalucian Bowling Federations. The result will certainly be an exhibition of excellent bowling and warm friendship between the two teams.

Last year, the highlight of the event, off the bowling green, was the visit of the Mayor of Benalmadena, accompanied by several dignitaries from the town hall. This year the Lady Mayoress of Marbella has been invited to inaugurate this annual event, “the Jewel in the Crown” of the Malaga bowling calendar.

Murray Johns, President of the host club, Santa Maria, and his enthusiastic support team, including Arthur Lees, Club Captain, have promised to make it a memorable occasion.

Brian Todd & Margaret Kain, the Team Malaga captains, have promised to field strong Men’s & Ladies teams against our welcome visitors – they need to because they will be playing against the Spanish National squad.

So Malaga bowling fans, mark the date in your diaries and come along to:

Elviria Urb., Santa Maria, N340 Km. 192, 29600, Marbella. (Refreshments available.)

2 matches each day, Tel : 952930242.

Report by John Carr, Team Malaga Manager & Delegate for the Andalucian Bowling Federation, Malaga province.
