HYATT HOTEL TO OPEN FIRST PROPERTY IN SPAIN IN 2015

The Hyatt Hotel Corporation is to set open its first property in Spain, the Park Hyatt Mallorca Hotel, in 2015 as it seeks to “further enhance its visibility in Europe and further pursue its strategy to increase its brand presence in the region and new markets”.

The project is a joint management agreement between a Hyatt affiliate and Cap Vermell Hotel Proyectos y Promociones, S.L, a Spanish real estate development company.

The hotel will be opened on the island of Mallorca and will overlook the Canyamel valley. It will have views of the sea and the ancient town of Arta. It will have 142 rooms with two restaurants, a private beach club, a swimming pool and poolside bar, a lounge bar, and around 2.600 sqm of space for events and spa and fitness facilities.

The luxury resort hotel will be built in the style of a traditional Mallorquin hilltop village with references to local art and culture. While pursuing a traditional style, the hotel will employ state of the art technologies and facilities that are standard across Hyatt hotels. It will be situated next to an 18-hole golf course, as part of a 61-acre development which will include residential properties and luxury villas.

The project will result in the first Hyatt-branded property in Spain, and the ninth Park Hyatt property in Europe, joining hotels in Baku, Hamburg, Istanbul, Milan, Moscow, Paris, Vienna (due to open in 2014) and Zurich.
