The average price per square metre of urban land in the fourth quarter of 2012 stood at 187.40 euros. During the period 3,843 operations were carried out (down 13.1% on the fourth quarter of 2011) representing 5.1 million square metres (down 14.6% on the fourth quarter of 2011). The previous quarter had seen prices increase by 11.3%.

In those municipalities with more than 50,000 inhabitants, the average price per square metre fell by 2.6% year-on-year to 366.10 euros.

The highest prices were recorded in those municipalities with more than 50,000 inhabitants in the provinces of Madrid (642.90 €/m2), Ciudad Real (583.20 €/m2), Cordoba (489.50 €/m2) and Zaragoza (403 €/m2). The lowest average prices, within those municipalities with more than 50,000 inhabitants, were recorded in the provinces of Valencia (88.50 €/m2), Cadiz (120.10 €/m2) and Albacete (128.90 €/m2).
