BUSY ROADS FROM WEDNESDAY

Phase two of “Operation Easter” starts at noon on Wednesday on the roads, with 10,000 Guardia Civil officers, and Pegasus, looking after the traffic network.

Traffic is expected to build from noon, with concentrations leaving inland cities and heading to the coast, with the 18:00 to 21:00, if last year is anything to go by.

In fact, last year, Wednesday was the busiest and most difficult day recorded, second only to Sunday, when phase three will commence to see the tourists return to their inland homes.

The final phase is set to come to a close at midnight on Sunday night, although there will be some people who remain into the early part of next week. Some 7.5 million trips will be made on the roads between noon on Wednesday and midnight on Sunday.
