FOOD COLLECTION FOR CARITAS IN PILAR
The mayor of Pilar de la Horadada, José Fidel Ros, along with a number of local councillors, were among the first to make donations last week at the Herbolario Emperatriz, where a campaign has been launched to collect food, which will be donated to Caritas.
As he thanked the manager of the shop, Juana Sanchez, for his generosity the mayor said that “these initiatives are very important to help those most in need.”
The event was attended by the local priest, Francisco Morato, and the delegate of Caritas in Pilar de la Horadada, Pepa Sánchez. Both reminded the gathering of just how important help can be as they specifically asked for food such as sugar, flour, milk or canned tomatoes.
The Pilar Council has agreed to collaborate with the initiative and it encourages other institutions to do likewise, “because we can help many people”, said Councillor of Commerce, Aurelio Samper.
Non perishable food for delivery to Caritas, may be handed into the store during normal business hours where you will be given a small gift as a reward for your support.
