TEN CHOIRS FOR THE 19TH JUNIOR HABANERAS

Around 600 young choristers from Ciudad Real, Guipúzcoa, Asturias, Valencia, South Korea and Torrevieja will take part in the nineteenth Junior Habaneras competition which will be held in Torrevieja’s Teatro Municipal on 19 and 20 April.
There will be a total prize fund of 6,000 euros, half of which will be presented to the winner, 2,000 euros to second and 1,000 euros to the choir finishing in third
Councillor for Culture and the vice president of the Municipal Habanera, Luis María Pizana, announced details of the competition, which has attracted a total of ten choirs, last week.
The judging panel will comprise of three well respected professionals: Juan Pablo John Martin, director of Voces Graves de Madrid, Nuria Fernández Herranz, director of the Coro de la universidad Carlos III de Madrid, and José Vicente Asensi, professor at the Conservatory of Music Oscar Esplá of Alicante.
Tickets to the competition are priced at 2 euros and can be purchased at the offices of the Municipal Habanera, from 9:00 to 14:00 pm until Friday 19 April, the day of the competition. Tickets will also be sold at the Municipal Theatre from two hours before the start of the concerts.
