The director of the Directorate General of Traffic (DGT), Maria Segui, said that judges “tend to go to the lower limit” for penalty fine ranges imposed for traffic offenses and states that all the department can do in this regard is “continue affecting the education of everyone, including judges, to understand the seriousness of these actions and how society expects strong responses.”
