FIESTA TIME IS NOW ES TIEMPO DE FIESTA

“The way back will come but once. Be steadfast”, said Robert Jordan in The Dragon Reborn. That time has come now. It´s time to go back to an era of long, long ago. A time of Knights, Chivalry, Princes and Princesses, castles and battles and fun by the bucket load, it´s time for old to meet new, and history to fuse as modern day time travellers descend on the ultimate event that offers a unique experience for all.

The eagerly awaited International Home and Lifestyle Expo takes place this week at the Castillo do Conesa. As the doors open at 10:00 on Tuesday and Wednesday, you pass your two euro fare to the maiden´s who welcome you in to the majestic grounds that plays host to different themed zones that bring together the modern day exhibition of home and lifestyle products, the exclusive addition of around 40 Medieval Market stalls and stands, a wide ranging entertainment section for the children to enjoy, a dining area offering paella, the Moroccan tea rooms or just enjoy the drinks from the one euro bar.

As our maidens of entry provide you with guidance, they will also offer the chance to enter into the unique prize drawer, with some exceptional prizes to be won. Children too can win for their efforts, as the best dressed child will be awarded, with judges on the lookout for those who fit in well with the atmosphere being created, whether dressed as a Princess, a Wizard or maybe a warrior, the fun of taking part in fancy dress will make for an absorbing experience for the little bearna.

Adults are not excluded from taking part, you too are welcome to dress up, and there will be plenty of characters walking around the castle grounds, adorned in traditional robes, so you too can feel part of the experience. But you can also join in with new, practical experiences like airbrushing, under the guidance of Rico Visual Art, who will show you how you too can make unique pieces of art for your home, or even to sell, and then, once your skills are perfected, who knows the limits of what you can achieve?

You could even paint your wagon, or at least your car, and to prove it, there will be two vehicles from Ventura Fleet in Los Montesinos, showcasing the customisation that has changed the look of their now exclusive vehicles.

With charity stalls, petanca competitions, classic cars and more, as well as guided tours of the castle, which not too many people have been able to experience before, paella, a BBQ, ice cream vans, cheap drinks and the tea house, there will be something to satisfy everybody for sure.

A two day extravaganza, on Tuesday and Wednesday, gates open at 10:00 until close, this can´t be described as the event of the year, but more the event of the centuries, with a modern day twist, with ample parking on the outside of the grounds, join us at the Castillo de Conesa, just outside San Miguel, and prepare to be taken on a journey through time and history, as “fiesta time is now – es tiempo de fiesta”.
