This Sunday, the 5th of May, the weekly Craft Fair in La Nucía has a special attraction: two young Czechs will amuse the children and their parents with juggling, dance and street theatre full of fun. When not acting, they will teach the cildren the first steps on the way to become a juggler.
This little market offers every Sunday another group of craft people. This week, when Spain celebrates Mothering Sunday, the visitor who still hasn’t got her a nice present, will certainly find something here: a nicely sculptured animal, silver jewelry with semi precious stones, a beautiful handbag or hand painted T-shirt or a wooden box decorated with resin.
There is a stall with ceramics, one with rag dolls and another one with hand painted glass or enamels.
Between and twllve stalls are set uo very Sunday morning on the square in front of the Town Hall (Plaza Mayor). There is also a tourist information stand from where at 11, a2 and 1 o’clock a guide, who speaks English and other languages, can take you around the lovely old town centre.
This week you can also partake in a "Ruta de tapas": in 20 different bars of La Nucía you can have a beer or a glass of wine with a special tapa for just 2 euros. And of course there is the weekly Rastro, a huge boot sale on the industrial estate (take the road to Benidorm). Plenty of reasons to vist La Nucía this Sunday.
