THOUSANDS ENJOY FIESTA FEVER

The occasional April shower didn´t dampen the spirits, even though one or two were quite heavy, as fiesta fever struck during the last week, with thousands of people coming along to join in the fun

Starting off at Guardamar last weekend, Toldos Guardamar launched their new summer range of blinds and awnings, with EXPOTOLDO 2013, a three day event of music, food and drink, and one lucky winner from Elche scooping a 500 euro prize awning.

Exite Radio oversaw the entertainment, as the Caballeros wooed the crowds, with Cherry and Terry as the Red Hot Cherry Peppers had the line dancers jiving, and Dave E Moss and Rebecca Holt took us on a trip through the decades, with Rebecca even performing wartime favourites, to the highly appreciative crowd.

But that wasn´t all, the girls who accompanied Zumba instructor Cindy put on an amazing show of colour and movements, and the local school performed their own rendition of the Lion King to dance, with every child performer receiving a special gift from the organisers.

Then the events moved to the Castillo de Conesa in San Miguel, as the doors opened on the International Home and Lifestyle Expo, this time taking on a medieval theme, with market stalls, performers, children´s activities, food, drink and more on one side of the castle, and a plethora of exhibitors in the main hall, offering everything from precious jewels to fitness courses, furniture gifts, and everything in between.

Exite Radio were there too, with Mark, Angela and Michelle recording this week´s Simply Small Talk live in the great hall, and they even dressed up in costume, “just like medieval radio presenters used to do”, according to Mark!

The success of this event was clearly measured by the numbers who attended, breaking all other records as crowds flocked from the entire area and beyond, with even the large overflow car parks struggling for most of the times.

Hundreds of portions of paella were served and thousands of people enjoyed their trip back in time while the exhibitors were kept busy dealing with the copious enquiries that all the stalls enjoyed.
