Recorded unemployment falls by 46,050 in April

06/05/2013. This was the second-best result in April since 2007. The year-on-year rate stands at 5.16% and has fallen by more than seven points since May 2012. Furthermore, hiring rose by almost 19% when compared with the previous month and by 11% when compared with April 2012. It is also worth noting that unemployment among the under-25s has fallen by 26,011 over the last 12 months, which is a year-on-year decline of 5.2%.
