Cantabiles’ last concert took place at Saint Peter & Paul’s Church, Torreta 2, after the evening Mass. An amount of €130 was presented to the church from an attendance of 45. The concert was well received and the songs were announced in both English and Spanish, which was appreciated both by the priest and the audience (about half and half English/Spanish speakers).
The choir sang a varied programme which included Gloria in Excelsis Deo, All in the April Evening, Bless This House, Agnus Dei, Let There Be Peace on Earth, Going Home and finished with an Easter Hymn. Soloists were: Phyl Webb – Amazing Grace, Alicia Muddle – Flocks in Pastures Green Abiding, Eve Day – Laudate Dominum, Pat Yardley – Pie Jesu, Patricia Flint & Jen Morton – He Shall Feed His Flock.
The choir thoroughly enjoyed singing for the second time in this venue and are looking forward to a return at Christmas.
Next concert, supporting Age Concern, is on 18 May at the Palacio de la Musica in Torrevieja. Starts 7.30. Free entrance. Free coach provided by Torrevieja Town Hall, leaves Age Concern’s office in la Siesta. Details from the office only.
