The above concert will take place on Sunday 26th May starting at 8pm. It features two of the leading choirs on the Costa, the excellent chamber choir ‘In Harmony’, and the very talented youngsters that are Cantemos! Children’s Choir. Both choirs are conducted by Nigel Hopkins.
In Harmony will sing a programme of non-religious music including such favourites as Linden Lea, All in the April Evening, Steal Away, and some special numbers that will entertain all audiences.
Cantemos! Children’s Choir will perform special arrangements of songs including Skye Boat Song, Morning Has Broken, Greatest Love Of All and many more. A special feature will be a song about how deaf people can ‘hear’ or communicate by virtue of sign language. During this song the children will use deaf sign language, signing the words they are singing. This is lovely to watch and hear, and is a very emotional experience. This will be the first ever performance of this song in Spain.
Tickets for the concert – with proceeds to La Zenia Church – are 5€, and are available from CallNet Internet cafe (behind Consum next to Paddy’s Point at La Zenia). They are also available from choir members, or on the door if you’re lucky.
Patrons are reminded that this annual concert is normally ‘sold out’, so it is probably best to secure your ticket beforehand to avoid any disappointment. We would welcome your support for this very special concert, and look forward to seeing you on the night if at all possible.
