The Guardia Urbana de Barcelona have arrested a man accused of trying to steal a truck loaded with 22 tons of copper, along with two others who escaped, by tricking the driver asking him to get out of the vehicle to assist them.

A Municipal Police patrol found that the vehicle was maneuvering inaccurately, reversing and moving abruptly and intermittently, and that a man approached the vehicle making a fuss and shouting to people inside the truck.

When officers approached the truck, its three occupants ran out, two of them managed to escape in an Italian registered car while the third was stopped.

The officers then spoke with the man who had gone to the truck making a fuss, they explained that it was the owner of the vehicle and that the others had tried to steal the truck.
