Following the resignation of two none elected members of the administrative team in Torrevieja, the Mayor of the city, Eduardo Dolón, has reshuffled the government team, sharing the duties left by the departure of Antonio Boix and José Riera with the remaining councillors.
Apart from the reallocation of duties, one of the most significant changes, perhaps finally taking advantage of a situation that had not been anticipated until a short time ago, is the removal of authority for the Local Police from the councillor in the centre of continual battles with them, Eduardo Gil Rebollo, with the management of the police transferring to Agustina Esteve, who will lose responsibility for hospitality, which have been given to Luis María Pizana.
Eduardo Gil Rebollo will keep the role of security coordination though, despite allegations that his brother benefitted from hundreds of thousands of euro worth of contracts for providing private security, and he will also take on the responsibility of transport.
Joaquín Albaladejo also has a significant change to his role, now taking on the Department of Innovation and Information, in addition to the roles already under his control.
José Antonio Sánchez is given Employment and Development, and María del Carmen Gómez Candel assumes the competences urban cleaning.
Dolón said that this, the last reshuffling expected during this term of office, has been designed to continue unifying efforts, in addition to distributing the responsibilities of those who have left amongst the other council team members.
