WORKING PLANS FOR PROSTITUTES
The entities that form parts of the Mesa de la Prostitución in Valencia, has approved a collaboration with the city council for two training programs for prostitutes, with a budget allocation of 60,000 euro, which includes training grants for participants.
Councillor for Social Welfare and Integration, Ana Albert, stressed that only one week after the submission of the Plan of Employment and Entrepreneurship Hall and are “prepared, agreed and appropriated for its implementation” two job training programs for the group of prostitutes. The Bureau of Prostitution, in operation since 2006, is to maintain regular coordination between the City and entities that develop intervention projects with the population engaged in prostitution in the city.
The first program, presented by the foundation is entitled “Social and Labour Integration Project for Women with Increased Difficulty of Integration”, and has 25 places on the course. It provides various training courses, one of them in the field of cleaning large areas and offices, which will later result in part-time contracts for a period of two months. There is a similar module for clerical duties, with practical work experience in companies of 5 hours per day for 4 weeks. There is also a course in food handling for both the hotel and catering and retail sectors, and additional elements for transport and warehousing.
In all cases, there is 500 euro per participant available in scholarships, with support elements such as counselling and information built in, as well as programs or workshops that can facilitate “collaboration of participants”.
