Since ticket prices were reduced and discounts increased on 8 February, the Spanish AVE high-speed railway system has been used by more passengers in spite of the overall decline in mobility throughout Spain. A third of all journeys are made on promotional tickets that allow for discounts of up to 70%. RENFE will offer a total of 17 million seats this summer on its AVE (high-speed), Long-Distance and Medium-Distance rail services.
