CLR is committed to improve all the schools on the coast. Two of the coast’s schools are housed in temporary portacabins for almost a decade and the Valencia government have made it clear that they will not invest any more money in schools in the foreseeable future.
CLR have gathered some 3,000 signatures from people who feel that the education of our children should be a government priority; they have also joined in school protests like the protest on Monday morning. At the Orihuela Pleno meeting next week CLR leader Pedro Mancebo will propose that the PSOE and Green government complete the half built school immediately from the proceeds of the sale of land in Orihuela Costa.
Mancebo stated “Our children are more important than a bullring or beautifying a street in Orihuela, Antonia Moreno sacked me as councillor for the coast because I opposed her plans to use all the money from the sale of coastal lands for an extravagant personal project where she lives, I propose that we invest all this 1,800,000€ in our children, build the school and apply to get the money back from Valencia. Our children need education in dignified conditions now”.
Mancebo said “CLR will continue to put forward proposals and offer solutions for the challenges of the coast. We will also be at the forefront in exposing corruption, favouritism, waste, illegal use of public funds and lies. We are committed to having a public administration that will work for the people and not for the personal preferences of the councillors”
