THE MAGIC FLUTE

Opera Duende, in this, its third year, brings Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” to a theatre near you, beginning with a first performance at the EMMA auditorium in Almeria on Thursday 27 June at 20.30.

Then there are performances at Teatro Villa, Huercal Overa on Saturday 29 June at 21.00 and on 4 July at 21.00 in the Auditorio Infanta Doña Elena, Aguilas.

Regrettably, the previously advertised performance in Mojacar cannot be staged this summer.

The Magic Flute is one of the four most performed operas worldwide and is the most popular of Mozart’s Operas. As with all of his operas the story reveals the passions, pressures and problems of us all but the Magic Flute is set in a fantasy world. The story tells us how good can triumph over evil and how people can find the strength to overcome the tests that life throws at us.

This production will be sung in German, with the spoken dialogue in Spanish. As Jeanne Henny, Opera Duende’s Director says, “one doesn’t need to understand the words: the story is revealed through Mozart‘s music and the singer’s performance”.
