TORREVIEJA EARTHQUAKE MEASURES 1.2 DEGREES

At 28 minutes past midnight this morning (Monday 1 July), tThe National Geographic Institute has recorded an earthquake of 1.2 magnitude on the Richter scale. Only a minor quake the tremor was centered to the southeast of Torrevieja.
The Emergency Coordination Center didn’t receive a single call and there was no requirement for any of the services to respond.
Two further earthquakes were registered in the same area two weeks ago on June 13 , the first of magnitude 2.7 and the second slightly larger at 3.2 second. Although the tremors were felt and reported by many local residents, once again there was no need for any emergency response.

March 23, 2011 : An earthquake in Torrevieja. Emergency services were put on alert.
January 12, 2012 : A magnitude 1.7 earthquake managed to wake up many residents in Torrevieja, Pilar de la Horadada and Orihuela Costa
February 5, 2012 : A magnitude three earthquake which was felt throughout Torrevieja and many other municipalities in the Vega Baja
June 18 2012 : The Vega recorded a number of minor seismic tremors during the month
November 14, 2012 : Very slight tremor in Torrevieja
