POLICE IN SEARCH OF MADELEINE MCCANN …
Six years after her disappearance on the evening of Thursday, May 3, 2007, in Praia de Luz, a resort in the Algarve of Portugal, police have identified 38 people of interest.
The British toddler went missing from her hotel room just a few days before her fourth birthday as her parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, dined with friends nearby.
British detectives have opened a new investigation after reveieing all of the evidence into the disappearance of Madelieine. They are now targeting 38 potential suspects from five different countries and have sent a formal request to Portuguese authorities for assistance as they pursue “new theories and new evidence”.
The 38 “persons of interest” include 12 British nationals, some living in Portugal and some living in the UK. The Met team have put together evidence from more than 30.000 documents and are now following up thousands of leads and key persons of interest. The 38 potential suspects who are currently being examined include known child sex offenders who were in the Algarve at the time of Madeleine’s disappearance.
None of the individuals are family or friends who were with her parents on holiday at the time and the work from the Met team have led them to believe that Madeleine was abducted by a stranger.
