The 112 emergency coordination centre for the Valencia region received 301,667 calls during the month of June, resulting in the management of 47,268 incidents.

Of all the incidents dealt with, 23,610 were in the province of Valencia, 17,990 were in Alicante and 5,266 in Castellón. The remaining 402 were from neighbouring regions, so they were transferred to the appropriate emergency centre.

By types of emergencies dealt with, a total of 27,037 were health related, whereas 8,106 were associated with public safety.

Capable of dealing with calls in most foreign languages, the centre dealt with 1,124 incidents that were reported in a language other than Spanish, of which 749 were recorded in Alicante, 261 in Valencia, 97 from Castellón and 17 from neighbouring communities. Specifically, 659 calls were handled in English, 78 in German, 64 in French and 323 in other languages.

During the first half of the year, the service managed a total of 225,545 incidents, of which 113,210 were in the province of Valencia, 83,614 in Alicante, 25,420 in Castellón and 3,301 in neighbouring regions, of which 109,997 were health related and 47,228 were incidents relating to public safety, 11,737 were traffic accidents, 8,915 fire alerts, 4,595 of an environmental risk and 2,060 rescues with endangerment to life.

The Director General responsible for the coordination centre, Irene Rodríguez, has praised the staff who look after the calls, all of which are handled with dedication and professionalism, “for this important daily work to meet and coordinate quick and effective emergency calls for all citizens”.
