The Valencian regional government has awarded the highest medal of merit to six Orihuela police officers, who all played their part in saving the lives of a 28 year old mother and her two daughters from a fire in their home.
The incident occurred in January, on calle Congreso, when a fire took hold in the home where the 28 year old was with her 5 and 2 year old children. Without hesitation or fear for their own safety, the officers acted to save the victims, from an incident that could have had a catastrophic ending.
The award ceremony took place in Altea this week, with the officers proudly displaying their recognition on their formal dress uniforms.
