GUARDAMAR OCCUPANCY UP THREE POINTS

Figures provided by the Office of Tourism for 8 tourist establishments in the town, which together have about 2,000 hotel rooms, indicate that during the first half of July Guardamar hotel occupancy increased by three points over those achieved last year showing a rise from 69% to 72%.

Camping Marjal has done rather better however, with a facility that is able to provide 698 places, this popular resort has reported an occupancy rate of 87%, up 17 points over the same period last year.

The tour operators ‘guardamarencos’ have made great efforts in this campaign, offering quality at affordable prices to increase their market share.

Hoteliers and restaurant owners are all now participating with the City’s tourism promotion policy that, in recent years, has seen a marked improvement in the main markets: Spanish, British, French, Russian and Scandinavian tourists.
