The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, was amongst dignitaries who met with police officials this week, in order to finalise plans for the new police office in Torrevieja, which is designed to provide “comprehensive care to both foreign and Spanish citizens”.
This will result in the police administrative unit for foreigners currently based at the Parque del Molino de Torrevieja, will move to the new site on calle Arquitecto Larramendi, which has around three times the space of the previous office.
Pedro Polo, the chief of police in charge of foreigner´s documentation, said that this will allow the National Police to provide double the staff currently operating in Torrevieja, an important point due to the number of international residents in the area, who will no longer have to travel to Elche or Alicante for processing their NIE applications.
