The Councillor of Culture, Antonia Moreno, said that, in the 3 months since opening, the Maria Moliner Municipal Library had doubled its expectations achieving almost 20,000 users during the 77 days that it has been open, an average of 252 visitors a day.
She said that there have been a total of 75 different activities in the facility, in which 1,837 people have participated, "particularly young people and children,"
Almost 600 people have actually joined the library but the councilor said that she was looking to achieve at least one library member per household.
The library also remained open for additional hours during the period that school examinations were held.
It is hoped that the next cultural event to be held in the building will be a jazz Concert later this month in the library square.
