ORIHUELA COURSES FOR UNEMPLOYED

Orihuela’s Employment Promotion council has announced that a number of courses for unemployed will be taking place during the third quarter of the year. They will be focused in the areas of hospitality, tourism and trade

The Councillor for Employment, Manuel Gallud, announced details of the courses stating that his Department had two objectives. First, to develop a training plan for the unemployed people of Orihuela and second, to assist the unemployed through a Local Placement Agency.

“These tools are aimed at assisting the unemployed to find work,” he said. We have designed a program of training courses for jobseekers focusing on the sectors of hospitality, tourism and trade.

During the month of September, the department will develop an English course for the hotel and leisure industry. In October, there will be another course of business showing those actively seeking employment how they can use the Internet and social networks to their benefit.

This will be held in the auditorium of La Lonja in Orihuela city. The activity will take place over two days and it will involve a number of guests of agencies and companies that have an active role in the job search market. In addition, there will be round tables and conferences.

The third course will focus on customer service in the tourism sector in the area of Orihuela and will be held in November whilst in December there will be a business management course aimed at teaching sales skills. Gallud said that he will shortly be announcing the registration details.
