The government team has put out to tender the contract for the management and maintenance of the San Cristobal recreation area located in the Pinar de Bonanza just a few kilometers north of Orihuela city
The centre has been closed for nearly two years due to a lack of permits from the Generalitat Valenciana.
Once the area has had its license renewed, said the Cllr Manuel Gallud said that the operation of the former holiday site would be put out to tender amongst local companies.
Specifications are already being drawn up which include the maintenance and upkeep of the area plus the obligation to create an online reservation facility as well as organizing outdoor activities for future residents
The Recreational area facilities include six wooden cabins and a small picnic area and the successful bidder will receive an annual payment thought to be in the region of 70,000 euro
