The local police of Orihuela have recovered an electrocardiogram that was stolen from an emergency ambulance on Sunday, whilst attending an emergency situation.
The ambulance crew reported the theft to the police immediately, saying that the unit, with a financial value of between 6,000 and 7,000 euro, but of priceless value for the lives that could have been risked by the heartless thieves, had been stolen, along with the carrying case and cables required to operate it.
The officers made enquiries around the local area, asking neighbours if they had seen anything suspicious, to which one claimed to have seen a man, “walking with a nervous attitude”, heading towards the Segura river bank and carrying a briefcase that matched the description provided by the members of SAMU unit.
A police patrol searched the area between the East and West bridges on Monday and found a black suitcase containing the electrocardiograph, which was handed back to the SAMU crew.
