TRAGIC DAY FOR CYCLISTS

The latter end of this week has become particularly disastrous on the roads, as three cyclists have been killed in three separate incidents in a 24 hour period.

One of the fatalities was in Murcia, when a 13 year old boy died having been struck by a vehicle whilst he cycled across a pedestrian crossing. The child was rushed to hospital, unconscious and bleeding from the head and nose, but medical staff could do nothing to save his life. The 26 year old car driver stayed with the boy until the emergency services arrived.

Then, a 15 year old cyclist was struck by a vehicle in Soria, but the driver fled this scene, only to be tracked down later by the Guardia Civil.

The third fatal accident has occurred in Vilobí del Penedès, in Barcelona, when another cyclist died after being in collision with a passenger car on the BV-2127.
