The Local Police of San Miguel de Salinas arrested a man for crimes against road safety, for the second time in as many months.
Police sources explain that the second arrest was a few days ago, when a patrol was summoned by the 112 emergency coordination centre, reporting a driver having caused damage to a parked vehicle in Blue Lagoon, with the driver showing signs of possible intoxication.
Witnesses at the scene identified the driver as being a 54 year old Spanish national, with the initials RMG, who officers say that upon questioning the man, he could barely stand and had difficulty answering their requests.
The officers conducted two breath tests, both giving positive results of 0.83 and 0.85, and considered him unfit to drive. Further investigation of the vehicle also revealed that he had defecated and urinated inside the car he was driving.
Agents instituted proceedings for an alleged crime against road safety, and reported the incident to the courts of Torrevieja for the initiation of urgent proceedings. The report also states that the individual has violated Article 379 of the Criminal Code on the two occasions, and should be dealt with appropriately.
