A 51 year old man died at the weekend inside of a lift of a building on calle Poeta Altet in Valencia, having believed to have suffered a stroke after being stuck for three hours.
A friend and roommate of the victim believes that the man left the apartment home at around 4 in the afternoon on Saturday, in order to take his dog down to the street level for exercise. The next known interaction was some 30 minutes later when a girl tried to use the lift, only to find it wasn´t working.
Some three hours later, engineers attended and found the lift was on the ground floor, but the doors were stuck closed, but through the glass they could see the body of a male, who was on the ground, his dog by his side.
The emergency services were called at around 19:30 and fire, police and ambulance crews all attended, with fire fighters having to prize the doors open. Medics checked for vital signs of life, but could only confirm that the man had died.
Police sources have confirmed that the death was due to natural causes. Neighbours report that they heard no sounds of alarms, dog barking or other calls for help.
