An emergency helicopter had to be called this week to evacuate a cyclist who had suffered an injury whilst riding near the submarine transmitter of Guardamar and Moncayo.
The incident occurred on Tuesday morning when the 112 emergency centre were advised of the incident, with information that the cyclist had fallen a distance of around 10 metres.
Fire crews and ambulances were sent to the scene, but given the severity of the injury to the cyclist´s leg, a decision was made to summon air support.
Crews stabilised the injuries whilst the emergency helicopter, which is based in San Vicente del Raspeig, arrived before taking the rider to hospital.
