In the second such incident in a week, a 28 year old Dutchman ran into the Valladolid bullring on Sunday, in an attempt to disrupt the bullfighting during the Toro de la Vega de Tordesillas. The man was arrested and kept in custody to prevent a reoccurrence during the event.

A total of seven people died on Spanish roads in six accidents during the weekend, according to the figures from the DGT between 15:00 on Friday and 20:00 on Sunday, with another six people injured, two of them seriously. A collision between two cars in Gerona on Saturday was the worst incident of the weekend, resulting in two fatalities. A third death on Saturday in a separate incident also marked that day as the worst of the weekend, with two fatalities on Sunday and one on Friday.

The Minister for Industry, Energy and Tourism, José Manuel Soria, will meet with representatives of the autonomous communities, trade unions, employers, politicians and legal representatives on Monday in order to study aid plans for the shipbuilding sector.

The six largest construction companies in Spain continued their debt reduction strategy in the second quarter of the year, with figures released this weekend showing a 0.3% reduction compared to the first quarter, but still in excess of 40 billion euro.

In cycling, the 16th stage of the Tour of Spain takes in a 146.8 kilometre route between Graus and Formigal in the north of the country.
