Listen to this articleOn Saturday 21 September La Vila Rugby Club travelled to the newly opened “Rio Turia” ground in Valencia, to take part in a pre season tournament organized by the “Comunidad Valenciana” federation.
The tournament was fought between four local teams – CAU VALENCIA, VALENCIA TECNIDEX, AKRA ALICANTE and LA VILA.
La Vila won against both Akra Alicante and Valencia Technidex, but lost to the overall tournament winner, CAU Valencia.
Hernan Quirelli, Vila coach, said that it had been “a good test for our young team, especially when you consider that the usual front row was missing, overall it was a positive result”.
The La Vila team can now approach the new season with confidence, having gained good results in a testing competition.
