WARNING OVER INCREASE IN DOG THEFTS

The Asociación Asoka el Grande Asoka animal protection group, the association responsible for the management of the Orihuela Animal Protection Centre, has issued a warning of an increase in the number of dogs being stolen from gardens and properties in the area.

Spokesperson for the group, Pilar Esteva, advises dog owners to keep a watchful eye on their pets, as a number of these animals are being stolen to be trained for fighting.

The group also advises that if anybody becomes suspicious, or if a dog has gone missing, it should be reported to the police immediately, in order for the law enforcement investigators to try to put a stop to the illegal and brutal activity of dog fighting.
