The weigh in for Saturday night’s much anticipated WBC Latino Light heavyweight title fight between local British fighter Ricky Pow and Barcelona based Cameroonian Emanuel Feuzeu will take place at Rocky’s Arena in Playa Flamenca at 3pm this coming Friday afternoon.

Always theatrical affairs the weigh in will coincide with the press conference which is expected to be attended by local television as well as print and web media. The event is totally free and members of the public are encouraged to go along and support Pow and the rest of the local fighters.

All five of the professional contests taking place on the Dolores card will go through the formal weigh in procedure which will be conducted by officials of the World Boxing Council.

Saturday nights card, which gets underway at 8pm in the Dolores Municipal Sports Centre, will provide Pow with the biggest test of his short professional career which if he is to progress he cannot afford to lose.

Speaking to the Leader the fighter said that he is well prepared and he goes into the clash in confident mood. “The training has gone exceptionally well, Ive just had my last sparring session and Im now looking forward to getting in the ring and showing Feuzeu that it’s not only the major cities that can provide world champions. Although he’s never been knocked out he’s never met Ricky Pow before.”

Both boxers have been identified for their quick precision and power and as such the WBC had no hesitation in giving the green light for the match. Pow has had an impressive run in the ring making him the number one contender for the title bout. On his part, Feuzeu, who will be boxing on Valencian soil for the first time, will be looking to recover from his recent points defeat against Carlos Esteban.

On the under card the undefeated heavyweight Magomed Azuev will take on Croation number 3 Ivo Andelic over 6 rounds, the exciting super featherweight Mikael Mkrtchyan will meet Peru’s Eder Barreto over the same distance and, returning from an injury which almost cost him his sight light middleweight, Daya Nueva’s Feliks Kleins will take on Valencia’s Fran Gonzalez over 4 rounds.

Advance tickets for the show will be available at a discounted rate at both the weigh in or here at the Leader Offices. Alternatively tickets can be purchased on the night for 20 euro in the stand and 30 euro ringside.
