RYANAIR JET IN FIRE-EMERGENCY LANDING

A Ryanair Boeing 737, flying from Tangier in Morocco to Dusseldorf in Germany, is reported to have been forced to make an emergency landing in Spain´s San Pablo de Sevilla airport, after reports of a fire in the cabin of the aircraft.

According to information from the 112 emergency coordination centre and air authority AENA, the notice was received at around 20:50, when the flight crew of RYR/FR2355, with aircraft registration EI-DPF, reported smoke in the cabin.

The full emergency protocol was initiated at the airport, with National and Local police joining fire services and medics to await the arrival of the flight, but upon landing the situation was declared as under control.

The aircraft conducted a normal landing and taxied to an apron at the airport where 180 passengers were taken off the aircraft.

Other flights at the airport have not been affected.
