SCOTTISH STUDENT EXCHANGE IN SAN JAVIER

Cati Perez, the Councillor for Education, entertained a Group of Scottish students at the town hall last week, who were on an Exchange visit to the municipality with students from the IES Mar Menor, Santiago de la Ribera.

The students, all aged 14 and 15, are currently studying Spanish at the Hermitage Academy in Helensburgh, which is this year celebrating its Spanish Exchange programme with the town for the second consecutive year.

The students, who arrived last Friday, have spent the weekend with the families of Spanish students who will also be participating in the exchange. As well as meeting the Councillor for Education they visited the ancient cities of both Cartagena and Murcia as well as taking a day trip on the ferry across to La Manga.

Four of the students took part in the same Exchange last year. The Spanish Students will take their six day Exchange in Helensburgh in March 2014.

The students were accompanied by two of their Spanish teachers and the director of IES Mar Menor, Miguel Angel Muñoz Sarrión .
