ANTONIO ZAPATA TO LEAD PSOE IN 2015 ELECTIONS

Following the surprise public announcement last week that the current Deputy Mayor of Orihuela, Antonia Moreno, would step down, Antonio Zapata has this week announced his intention to aspire to lead the PSOE to a win in the next municipal elections.

Antonio Zapata, currently number 2 in the Psoe in municipal list, will focus his attention on the 2015 elections, and has no intention to fulfil the post of Deputy Mayor at this time.

Once the resignation is formalised at the end of this month, there may still be a shuffle within the ruling bipartite, but as Moreno had no official competences, there only seems a logical move to share some of the other group member´s responsibilities with incoming Victor Ruiz.
