SAN MIGUEL BOWLS CLUB BRINGS CHRISTMAS CHEER

San Miguel Bowls Club has raised €405 to purchase food for the needy families in San Miguel de la Salinas. Early on in the year Pat McEwan, Secretary of San Miguel Bowls Club, watched a television documentary highlighting the plight of many families in San Miguel, and put forward the suggestion that instead of sending Christmas cards to one another, a donation be made towards food parcels for those in need.

Eileen Potts, President of San Miguel Bowls Club and Pat McEwan collected the cash, and after finding out what was needed, paid a visit to Mercadona where the manager was only too pleased to assist. Numerous boxes of food were dropped off at the Distribution centre in San Miguel where they were gratefully received.
