NEW BEACHFRONT WALKWAY FOR TORREVIEJA SOUTH

The mayor of Torrevieja invited tender son Thursday for a new 2 km pedestrain walkway linking the Paseo Marítimo with La Playa De Los Náufragos A Cala Ferris, a total area of 12,000 sq mtrs

The operating budget for the Project will total 1,578,876 euros. He is currently waiting for approval by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment ( MAGRAMA ) and with a a completion period of 8 months he anticipates that work will commence by mid next year 2014

In making the announcement the mayor was accompanied by the Councillor for Works Services, Javier Montoro.

Snr Dolon said that the Project is particularly important in that it will provide continuation of the pedestrian walkway from the maritime port to La Cala Ferris.

Because of the terrain the walkway is bound to be extremely diverse. It will include an aggregated trail, wooden sleepers and walkways ands well as the introduction of street furniture, litter bins, benches and lighting.
