On Tuesday, attendees of Torrevieja´s Spanish language course for foreigners received their diplomas, after undergoing a course of 40 hours tuition, thanks to collaboration between the town hall and the Asociación de Voluntarios con Iniciativa Social en Torrevieja, ATIS.
Those who received the award come from a variety of international backgrounds, including some of the growing communities of Ukrainian, Russian, Romanian and Algerian residents.
These courses are taught by ATIS, with the collaboration of the departments of Immigration and are operating on a rolling three month cycle.
ATIS is an Ngo that promotes volunteerism, and the vast majority of people who operate for the association do so as volunteers, collectively helping other groups such as Caritas, the Cruz Roja and Asila, amongst others.
