FRUIT MACHINE BANDITS ARRESTED

Officers from the Guardia Civil have arrested four people, three of them men and the fourth a woman, all suspected of being involved in at least 9 offences relating to robbery with force.

Operation “Mazao” was concluded with the arrests for crimes believed to have been committed in the towns of Dolores, Daya Vieja, Rojales and Formentera del Segura.

In several of the robberies, which were in a variety of establishments, the group would target slot machines, using enough force to smash them open and obtain between 500 and 1,500 euro each time.

Once identified as suspects in the case, the investigators searched a home and found various effects related to robberies in such establishments, as well as 15 lottery tickets, two mobile phones and a laptop computer.

The detainees have been made available to the Courts in Orihuela.
