The park was funded by the Torrevieja Rotary Club

The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolon, was accompanied by he Councillor for Parks and Gardens, Carmen Gómez Candel, and the president of the Rotary Club Torrevieja , Gema Cruz as they together opened the new Children’s Playground, located inside the garden of the Nations.

The funding for the park was donated by the Rotary Club Torrevieja, through numerous collections made at a variety of events and community development projects costing in the region of 9,000 euros. This has been a venture that the Rotary Club also shared with APANEE, the Association of Parents of Students with Special Education Needs.

This is the first playground in Torrevieja, providing a safe and accessible environment which has also been adapted to allow children with and without disabilities to play together.

The park, which was blessed by Father Manuel Martínez Rocamora, was built by the Brigada Verde (Green brigade) of the Department of Parks and Gardens.

The mayor thanked the Rotary Club Torrevieja for their help with this joint initiative which has enabled the installation of this playground.
