Once again the Torrevieja Pipes & Drums were asked to travel inland to appear in a typical Spanish Town.
The International Languages and Friendship Group of Novelda organized a St. Patrick’s Day celebration on Sunday 16th March and asked the band to start off the event. The sun shone brightly and the band entertained a mixture of English, Scottish, Irish and Spanish people in the gardens of The Casino, situated in the centre of Novelda.
Besides the popular Scottish tunes the band played a medley of Irish Tunes specially put together by their pipe major Alex Hunter. Mark, the dancer, was again on hand to thrill the spectators with his nimble footwork.
The aim of the Friendship Group is to promote integration with the Spanish community by organizing social evenings, cultural activities and outings
