The Civil Guard is now going through its database of missing persons

The Guardia Civil says that it is still waiting for the autopsy to be carried out on the body found last Saturday lunchtime washed up and bagged on La Zenia Beach. They say that initial investigations have provided them with little information and at this time they are no closer to providing an identification to the victim.

The body was found wrapped in an industrial sack which was sealed in plastic and although the autopsy has not yet been carried out the first forensic examination shows that it had met a violent end having suffered blows to the back and the head, back and shoulders, thought quite probably the cause of death.

The victim had been several days at sea and the possible identification by fingerprinting has not yet produced any results.

The perpetrators took time to perfectly bind the corpse. It was wrapped in blankets and plastic and black tape which had carried out with some care. The entire head was covered with a black material.

The Civil Guard is now going through its database of missing persons trying to identify a profile that matches that of the man found. The victim is said to be a man, approximately 6 feet tall, short brown hair and powerfully built.

The court of Instruction No. 3 of Orihuela has assumed the investigation into the case.
