“Libro de actas capitulares del Consell 1353-1357” – Biblioteca Pública Municipal María Moliner (Until 30 Apr). This is the oldest book of records preserved in the Municipal Archives. It contains all complete because, like many others, was bound much later dates, sometimes not follow a chronological order, so in this particular are only minutes from 1353 to March year from April to December 1354 and from June 1356 to May 1357. Their condition is very uneven because while some leaves have been preserved very well, others are almost illegible or has reached us only part of them. The minutes of these years, among many other issues, this is the help that the then town of Orihuela contributed to his master, the Infante Don Fernando, on the occasion of his marriage to the Infanta Dona Maria, daughter of the King of Portugal, Fernando donation requested to settle in Orihuela, the entry of infants into it and the preparations for war between Pedro IV of Aragon and Pedro I of Castile that lasted between 1356 and 1369. The records are written in Valencian. This book was restored in 2004 by the Valencian Institute of Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Property.
